WHY PUPPY TRAINING IS SO IMPORTANT TO YOUR DOG (AND YOU)

It has often been said that there is only one thing that two dog trainers will ever agree upon, and that is what the third dog trainer is doing wrong! For all the debate and political differences in the dog training world it is universally understood and accepted that early socialisation, habituation, and training is essential for any dog. Until 16 weeks of age a puppy is in the most formative period of it’s life, and the training, exposures and imprinting that it experiences during this period will remain with it for it’s entire life.

This period is called the Critical Socialisation Period (CSP), and it has been proven that learning the right lessons during the CSP can influence every aspect of a dogs future life. Areas affected include, but are not limited to, the way your dog relates to other dogs and animals, the way he deals with stress, his ability to learn easily, his inner confidence, his recovery from injury, and the list goes on and on.
